The conference is jointly organized by the DS&OR Lab (Decision Support & Operations Research Lab) of University of Paderborn and CARISMA (Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Optimisation Modelling Applications ), Brunel University.
It is organized as part of the project “OptDienste – Webbased optimization services for business applications” which has been chosen for the “Operational Programme ERDF North Rhine-Westphalia 2007-2013” under the “Regional Competitiveness and Employment” objective.
Contributions from modeling, solving methods and software as well as applications of optimization are very welcome. Relevant application areas include, but are not restricted to finance, transportation, supply chain planning and management, energy and infrastructure. The models may be deterministic or stochastic, and aspects considering robustness or disruption management are very welcome. The methodological focus of the previous conferences has been on mathematical programming including stochastic programming. In APMOD 2012 the scope will be extended to include other methods as well, such as heuristics, metaheuristics or simulation.
