International Conference on Numerical Analysis and Optimization

An International Conference on Numerical Analysis and Optimization dedicated
to M.J.D. Powell's 70th Birthday will be held at the Institute of
Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, from September 25-28, 2006. This meeting
is intended to honour the many contributions of Professor M.J.D. Powell to
Numerical Analysis and Optimization. It is organized by the State Key
Laboratory of Scientific and Engineering Computing, the Institute of
Computational Mathematics and Scientific/Engineering Computing, Academy of
Mathematics and Systems Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The meeting is sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese
Natural Science Foundation. Invited lectures on recent advances of numerical
analysis and optimization will be given. Invited Speakers (Preliminary list)

A limited number of short (20 minutes) papers will be accepted for
presentation. Papers on theoretical, computational and practical
aspects of numerical analysis and optimization are welcome.
Dates and deadlines: Prospective participants (except invited speakers)
should send their preregistration giving address (postal and e-mail,
if available) and accommodation preference(standard or expensive or luxury)
to the address below by post or e-mail before December 15 2005. A second
announcement will be sent in March 2006 to all those who preregister. The
